2024 SUCCESS STORIES
During 2024, the Road Home Foundation for Injured Warriors and Families issued fourteen grants at a cost of $52,204. These grants are summarized below:

Purpose: Supported a US Navy veteran who is wheelchair-bound with the installation of a ramp and the purchase of a lightweight powered wheel chair. This expenditure allows safer and easier egress from his home and gives him the ability for travel.

Date: 2 – 1 – 24
Amount: $6,300
Purpose: Supported a United States Marine Corps veteran with a grant for housing and transportation needs. This veteran was able to move into a clean apartment in a much safer neighborhood leading to better living conditions. He was also able to have his car repaired leading to more reliable transportation.

Purpose: Supported the wife of a United States Army veteran with a grant for extraordinary medical expenses. Her veteran husband had recently passed due to cancer.

Purpose: Supported Camp Freedom – PA with a $2,000 grant for veterans’ support services. Camp Freedom – PA provides outdoor adventure services for veterans and first responders suffering form post traumatic stress.

Purpose: Partnered with Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 NY – a veterans-aid organization – to provide an aging United States Army veteran with a lightweight powered wheelchair for increased mobility and better quality of life.

Purpose: Supported Staten Island Giving Circle – a local food pantry catering to veterans through their Value-a-Vet program – with a $4,000 grant to benefit veterans with food insecurities.

Purpose: Partnered with numerous other organizations to purchase and install two chair lifts in the home of an aging United States Navy Veteran. He had recently undergone surgery and physical therapy and was left with limited mobility.

Purpose: Supported a local Knights of Columbus Council with a donation to their Military Appreciation fundraiser.

Purpose: Supported Lincoln’s Promise food pantry in Chester County, PA – a local food pantry catering to veterans – with a grant to benefit veterans with food insecurities.

Purpose: Supported the General Needs Society, a veterans-aid organization providing housing services to displaced veterans, with a grant for the purchase of 215 blankets. Blankets were distributed to veterans living in two of their housing complexes.
